Turo is kind of like Uber meets Airbnb: You borrow someone’s car, but you do all the driving. I’ve used it many times and found it a great alternative to traditional car-rental services — in part because you get to choose exactly the vehicle you want (not just, say, “midsize”) and in part because you can often do pickup and dropoff right outside baggage claim.Between now and Sept. 1, the first 300 people to check out can get $30 off any Turo rental with promo code LDW30. Best live TV streaming services: Ditch your cable company but keep the live channels and DVR. Spotify and most other streaming services rely on compressed audio, which robs the listener of full fidelity. Enter Tidal, the only “major” service that delivers lossless audio — meaning at least on par with CD quality, if not better. Want to see (er, hear) the difference for yourself? Grab this excellent extended trial while you can. It’s just $6 for three months, and it’s good for up to six listeners. Wait — no, I’m not. As much as I respect the original intent of the holiday (which became official back in 1894), to most of us, it’s just a bonus day off — one that’s blissfully tacked onto a weekend. So, yeah, stores; go ahead, run your sales. I’m listening. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Labor Day doesn’t bring out bargains to compete with the likes of Black Friday (which will be here before you know it), but there are definitely some sales worth your time. For example:We’ve rounded up the best Labor Day mattress deals. We’ve also gathered the best Labor Day laptop deals at Best Buy.The 2019 Vizio P Series Quantum is back under $999.Be sure to check out Amazon’s roughly three dozen Labor Day deals on TVs and audio. Google Express is having a big sale as well, one that includes deals on game consoles, AirPods, iPhones, laptops and more.Below I’ve rounded up a handful of individual items I consider to be the cream of the crop, followed by a handy reference guide to other Labor Day sales. Note that CNET may get a share of revenue from the sale of the products featured on this page. An Echo Dot makes a fine match for any Fire edition TV, because you can use the latter to say things like, “Alexa, turn on the TV.” Right now, the 24-inch Insignia Fire TV Edition starts at just $100, while the 32-inch Toshiba Fire TV Editions is on sale for $130. Just add any Fire TV Edition to your cart, then add a third-gen Echo Dot, and presto: The latter is free. As much as we love Bollywood, we love to hate it too. And what better way to celebrate the most irritating, the most frustrating and the most painful moments from Hindi films from last year than to sit around and have a hearty laugh at them while they get kelas. Literally and otherwise! The 5th Annual Golden Kela Awards were held in the Capital on a nice, unsuspecting Saturday afternoon when a group of movie buffs got together at India Habitat Center. Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’The Golden Kelas celebrated half a decade in the industry by of course doing the usual – celebrating the worst of Indian cinema. The Golden Kelas have come to be an awards ceremony not every actor can rejoice but only the ones who have the wits to accept both good and bad that is thrown at them. The best and the funniest thing about this year’s awards was that most of the winners were the top grossers of Bollywood 2012.With over 6 lakh votes this year, the Kela Awards are making their presence felt strongly all over. We will strive to bring the ‘worst’ to the forefront and remind them to make good cinema.”The top honor for the Worst Actor went to Ajay Devgan for Son Of Sardar & Bol Bachchan. Sonakshi Sinha won the Worst Actress award not for any one movie in particular, because according to GK team and the voters, she was worst at ‘Everything she did.’ Shirish Kunder’s Joker won two biggies of the night – Worst Film & Worst Director.Other big winners of the night were Dabangg 2 for the Worst Sequel, which proved that Salman can sell the crappiest of things to his fans, and that’s why even audiences voted for the Bawra Ho Gaya Hai Ke Award to Indian Moviegoers. Royal Lahaina Resort will fill your clients with that Maui love << Previous PostNext Post >> Tags: Hawaii Candice Abraham There is so much right with Kaanapali Beach on Maui that once your clients visit it may be hard for them to imagine vacationing anywhere else. There are a fair number of Canadian travellers who know this already, as they make the trip to Kaanapali’s shores year after year. One of the oldest known hotels on Kaanapali Beach is the Royal Lahaina Resort. Its location is so ideal, it’s reason enough to suggest the property to first-time Kaanapali travellers or repeat visitors. But it’s Royal Lahaina Resort’s warm, Hawaiian ambience that will fill their hearts with Maui love. The Royal Lahaina Resort offers a variety of room categories to fit a plethora of budgets, from standard hotel rooms in their Lahaina Kai Tower, to Cottage rooms and suites. Earlier this year my family took time at the Royal Lahaina resort. We arrived to walk into our Oceanfront Lanai Suite (located in the Lahaina Kai Tower) to panoramic views of the Pacific wrapping around our living area and bedroom. This combined with the Hawaiian style décor got my family and I in the Maui vibe in an instant. We visited the resort during whale watching season, so of course, to top off the stellar views from our double lanai were mother and calf humpback whales breeching and playing together in the ocean (no joke). It was one of those vacation moments when you ask yourself if this is actually for real — a Maui experience that money can’t buy. This wasn’t the only memorable experience we had at Royal Lahaina Resort. We spent a lazy afternoon going from beach to Royal Lahaina’s main pool and back again. The sun was beginning to set and the resort’s musician sang acoustic slow jams while we enjoyed a snack and a few beverages by the pool, the ocean waves crashing in the background. There were many families soaking this experience up just as much as we were, happy guests all around, including a large extended family sitting together at a table outside their oceanfront cottage, laughing over a game of cards as the music played on.It was around that time I heard another group of guests talking about how they could hear humpbacks singing just by putting their ears in the ocean along Royal Lahaina’s stretch of beach. My husband and I had to see (or hear) this for ourselves, so we took turns getting into the water, lying our heads back so just our ears dipped under the sea and sure enough, a chorus of humpbacks on an afternoon serenade. It was another vacation moment that won’t be forgotten, but even if it wasn’t the height of whale watching season on Maui, the laid-back atmosphere at Royal Lahaina Resort had already filled us up with memories. It’s no surprise that Royal Lahaina Resort is the kind of property that doesn’t charge its guests a resort fee. It adds that home-away-from-home comfort to a resort that already feels like one. Royal Lahaina Resort also offers free in-room WiFi and promos that include 30% off Special Partial Ocean View rooms with six night minimum stays (rates from $185/night).Agents interested in visiting the Royal Lahaina Resort can also take advantage of a 30% discount on available retail rates at the property, a good idea if you’d like to sell more of it.And for agents selling the Royal Lahaina Resort, for every two bookings of three nights or more, they will receive a free night (no maximum). With a minimum of four bookings of three nights or more, agents can also earn daily buffet for two on top of free room nights. And with a minimum of six bookings of three nights or more agents will also earn two tickets to the Royal Lahaina Resort’s famous luau – The Myths of Maui Luau –which is a must-see experience in and of itself.
